Rank & Ride Accessibility Commitment

Rank & Ride is an arena for all. We are committed to creating an inclusive digital space where everyone can experience, engage with, and express themselves through the sport of rodeo. This commitment is part of our ongoing efforts to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.

Key Accessibility Features:

• Alternative Text & Media Descriptions: We empower our members to make the arena inclusive. When posting photo highlights, we encourage the use of descriptive alternative (alt) text to assist those with visual impairments.

• Standard Video Playback: To assist members sensitive to intense light, fast contrast, or High Dynamic Range (HDR), our platform defaults to standard dynamic range (SDR) and provides user controls for standard playback.

• Photosensitive Protections: Rank & Ride proactively identifies and provides tools to remove videos containing content that may trigger migraines or seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy.

• Readable Display: Our interface is designed to support standard bold text and text size adjustments from your device's global settings to ensure all rankings and FYP content are readable.

• Enhanced Feed Controls: When a screen reader (Talkback on Android or VoiceOver on iOS) is active, our "Arena Beacon" feed navigation buttons become dynamic, allowing users to easily pause, play, and navigate between rides.

• Auto-Captions: For both creators and viewers, we are integrating automatic subtitling. Creators can edit transcribed text for accuracy, and viewers can toggle captions on or off to ensure the roar of the arena is accessible to everyone.

Other Inclusive Tools:

We support additional user-managed features, including:

• Reduced Motion: Minimize visual transitions for users sensitive to fast visual effects.

• Color Contrast Control: Adjust contrast to ensure comfortable reading, even in bright, outdoor arena conditions.

• Playback Speed: Watch rides at your own pace—slow down to catch details or speed up to save time.

• Thumbnail Animation: Choose between static or animated thumbnails based on visual comfort.
