Law Enforcement Guidelines

These guidelines are a reference for law enforcement officials seeking data regarding members of the Rank & Ride platform. Rank & Ride is committed to cooperating with law enforcement while respecting the privacy and rights of our community members.

1. Basic Requirements

All requests for user data must be made by a sworn law enforcement official or a court of competent jurisdiction. Requests must be sent from an official government email domain and include a valid legal process (subpoena, court order, or warrant).

2. Types of Member Data

Rank & Ride may hold the following data subject to a valid legal request:

• Subscriber Info: Username, email address, phone number, and account creation date.

• Access Logs: IP addresses associated with logins/logouts.

• Content Data: Video uploads, comments, and direct messages (Content data generally requires a search warrant).

• Transaction Data: Records of premium feature purchases or digital "Standing" updates.

3. Requirements for a Valid Request

To process a request, it must be on official letterhead, signed, and include:

• Requesting Officer Details: Name, badge number, and official email.

• Account Identifier: A specific TikTok/Rank & Ride username, User ID, or linked email/phone number.

• Date Range: Specific dates relevant to the investigation.

• Legal Basis: Citation of the specific statute or code authorizing the request.

4. Preservation Requests

We will honor formal requests to preserve member data for 90 days pending the issuance of a formal legal process. Preservation requests must clearly identify the account and the specific data to be held. We may extend this for one additional 90-day period upon written request.

5. Emergency Requests

In cases involving imminent harm, risk of death, or serious physical injury to a person (such as missing persons or threats of violence), Rank & Ride may disclose data necessary to prevent that harm without a formal subpoena.

6. Member Notification

It is our policy to notify members when we receive a legal request for their data unless we are prohibited from doing so by law or a specific non-disclosure order (e.g., under 18 U.S.C. § 2705(b)).
